What will your day-to-day look like working with us?

  • Function across multiple teams to enable and organize workflow;
  • Generate and maintain modified plants using various plant cell and tissue culture techniques;
  • Conduct high-throughput nucleic acid extraction from a variety of biological samples;
  • Follow plant phenotyping protocols to score and evaluate plant and trait status;
  • Prepare tissue culture media using MediaJet/MediaClave;
  • Analyze and validate trait generation using molecular technologies;
  • Collect plant samples from lab, greenhouse and field for subsequent analysis;
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of your protocols and project data;
  • Collaborate with team to troubleshoot and develop optimized workflows;
  • Accountable for maintaining highest scientific standards and ethical integrity.

 

Requirements to apply for the position:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Plant Biology, Plant Breeding, Genetics, or a related field, with hands-on experience in laboratory and greenhouse settings, gained in either academic or industry environments;
  • Proficient in English as a working language;
  • Experience with aseptic techniques, microbiology, and chemistry, especially under plant tissue culture settings;
  • An understanding of general principles of molecular biology, including molecular cloning, plant genotyping and gene expression analysis;
  • Basic proficiency with microscopy, software packages and electronic notebooks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR, and quantitative PCR (qPCR) using TaqMan probes;
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, statistical interpretation, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
